1991 In 1991, with the aim of conducting design education across Mongolia, the historical foundation was laid with the establishment of the "Mongolian-Russian Joint Professional College" under the University of Education and Sciences. This was done under the decree No. 510 issued on October 10, 1991, by the Minister of Education and Sciences, in accordance with the cooperation agreement between the Russian-American Joint Institute in Tomsk, Russia, and the State Teachers’ Training College. 1992 Starting from 1992, design courses were incorporated into the curriculum of the Decorative Arts and Technical Education major of the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Education and Sciences. These courses, conducted for 64 hours over 1 to 3 consecutive semesters, paved the way for design to become an independent subject of study. 1998-1999 In the 1998-1999 academic year, a new major for Fine Arts and Design Education was established, and since then, the school has continuously developed and improved its graphic design program, graduating high-quality professionals each year. Over this period, the school has developed its own teaching style and, through its graduates, has made a significant impact on the design education programs of higher and secondary educational institutions such as the Institute of Fine Arts, the Digital School, Ulaanbaatar University, and the Mon-Geni School. 1997-1998 In the 1997-1998 academic year, the first elective group for 4th-year design students began classes, laying the foundation for establishing a professional program. 2002-2005 By order No. 332 of the rector of the University of Education and Sciences on September 23, 2002, the school's structure was reorganized, and the "Department of Design and Production" was established with 5 teachers and 1 assistant staff member. In 2004, by order No. 162 of the Minister of Education, Culture, and Science on May 13, 2004, the Computer Graphics Design program was launched, and in 2005, the Fashion Design program was introduced. Since then, the school has continued to offer these programs, successfully accrediting all its bachelor's degree programs. |
