Historical Journey

The School of Fine Arts and Technology is one of the oldest schools of the Mongolian State University of Education (MSUE), with a 65-year history. The foundation of the school was laid in 1958 when the Council of Ministers of the People's Republic of Mongolia issued a resolution "On Immediate Goals for Public Enlightenment and Measures to Achieve Them," leading to the establishment of a "Drawing and Labor" class aimed at training teachers with higher education in drawing, technical drawing, and labor.

Throughout its historical journey, departments for physical education, drawing and labor, and film drama were opened, evolving into the Faculty of Industry and Pedagogy and later known as the Faculty of Natural Sciences. In 1961, the "Labor-Physical Education Faculty" was established with B. Dorjnyam appointed as the first dean. From 1980 to 1989, the merged entity operated as the "Faculty of Physical Education and Arts" at the State Teachers’ Training College, with A. Gochoo serving as dean.

In 1990, the faculties were reorganized into departments, leading to the expansion of the Physical Education Faculty and the Arts and Technology Faculty into independent constituent schools. On June 2, 2014, the School of Fine Arts and Technology merged for the third time in its history with the School of Physical Education to form the "School of Arts and Physical Education," with A. Enkhmaa serving as the director. Subsequently, on August 28, 2017, it became an independent "School of Fine Arts and Technology" once again, and it has continued to operate as one of the eight constituent schools of MSUE, focusing on education, research, creativity, and innovation. Currently, Dr. (Ph.D) S. Battsooj, a graduate of the school, serves as the director.
