About

Greetings from the Director

As the School of Fine Arts and Technology celebrates its 65th anniversary this academic year, we extend our congratulations and best wishes for continued success to all the professors, staff, alumni, students, and collaborating organizations both domestic and international, as well as our partners and fellow higher education institutions who have been involved with the school.

The school began its journey in 1958 by opening its first class to train drawing, technical drawing, and labor teachers, enrolling 28 students. The following year, in 1959, the Department of Drawing and Labor was established, with People's Artist and double State Prize laureate Odon Geleg serving as the first head, thus beginning the rich history of the school. Throughout this period, thanks to the tireless efforts of successive leaders, veteran teachers, and artists, we have not only trained art, technology, and drawing teachers across Mongolia but have also produced renowned artists, creators, singers, and actors who have brought fame to our country worldwide, nurturing schools with cultural, artistic, and design training programs. The school has become recognized both nationally and internationally.

Today, the school operates with three departments: the Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Technology, and the Department of Design and Drawing. We offer accredited bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in Fine Arts, Design, Technology, Fine Arts Studies, and Design Arts, enrolling both domestic and international students, and producing teachers, artists, and researchers recognized globally.

In the past decades, we have integrated advanced teaching technologies into our training, combining education with production, offering day and repeat courses, laddered courses, and part-time education to ensure the accessibility of our teaching staff. In the coming decades, our team aims to integrate intelligent technology into education, research, and innovation, providing online and in-class training to prepare highly skilled, modern teachers capable of navigating the smart, digital world, and delivering education services at an international level.

At this historic moment, we express our gratitude to the veteran teachers who have participated in the establishment, development, and strengthening of the school, creating a history that will be carried forward by the young people and students into the next decades. The school's faculty and staff are always proud of our thousands of graduates who have spread their wings across the country and beyond, sharing knowledge, showcasing their creativity, and enhancing the reputation and wisdom of our teachers.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our professors, staff, and employees who are dedicatedly sharing their knowledge and skills with our students, contributing to the school's development and future success. Just as the saying goes, "Helping each other brings strength," we express our gratitude to all the past and present leaders of the Mongolian State University of Education, our domestic and international collaborators, universities, supporting organizations, and individuals who have worked with us in training skilled designers, creators, artists, teachers, and researchers.

Respectfully,

Dr. (Ph.D) S. Battsooj

Director of the School of Fine Arts and Technology
